What is the SpamStopper rule and what does it do?

IgLou's SpamStopper rule can be enabled or disabled separately from any of your other customized filter rule.

When enabled, this rule will automatically attempt to identify spam and block it.

The SpamStopper rule is one of the most powerful functions of IgLou's MailBlock service and will effectively eliminate a substantial portion of unwanted junk mail.

SpamStopper has three different levels of aggression:
  • Low - Basic blocking of known junk-mail advertisers
  • Medium - Also block known spam relays and proxies
  • High - Also block messages based upon the content of the messages

While IgLou's MailBlock and SpamStopper services make every attempt to identify and block only unwanted SPAM mail, there is always the possibility that legitimate email could be blocked.

Blocked email is put automatically into your Trash folder in IgLou's Webmail.

You can always override MailBlock by creating your own special permit rules to override MailBlock and allow certain mail through.
